How has working from home effected your stress levels?

It can be hard to navigate life while working from home. Everything becomes meshed together and time away from home once used to put our heads back on straight is now thrown in the crazy loop of cleaning and caring for loved ones.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic, stress levels and stress related illnesses have sky rocketed for those not used to spending all day at home (Galanti, Guidetti, Mazzei, Zappalà, & Toscano, 2021).

Utilizing 15-20 minute breaks every hour or two to be mindful and do yogic breathing can greatly reduce stress levels (Tellhed, DaukantaitÄ—, Maddux, Svensson, & Melander, 2019) .

A small 10-15 minute break a few times through your work day can improve your mental and physical health. This gives you a chance to unwind and reposition your thinking.

Often times people get stuck in the routine of sitting at their desks for hours on end. The CDC recommends that adults get 150 minutes/week of moderate exercise. Splitting this up in small segments through the day by doing yoga can get you to the recommended amount needed!
